Cricket is a "Game of Glorious Uncertainties'. We all know this. Its full of sweet surprises. Last Week we had a surprise but that was not sweet. Yes, the cricketing world is rocked by "L'Affaire Cronje" . With more and more scandals coming out every hour, it would be interesting to see what our Indian Players have in store.
On 18th April, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has agreed to make the Chandrachud Committee Report Public. The same is likely to be passed in the parliament too.
Also the ICC has called for an executive meeting to sort out this matter and stop further damage caused to the game thru theses match-fixing allegations. Meanwhile, Indian Government has rejected any proposal for making 'Betting', a legal affair.
Dave Richardson, former South African cricketer, released a statement and here is the brief up :
" In 1996, While we were touring India, we were offered $250,000.The Offer was rejected after having 3 meetings within the team members. Rhodes,Hudson and myself rejected the offer strongly "
This was again a shocking truth and every cricketing fan held his head down. Bob Woolmer, the coach of SA was unaware of this and this was headed by Cronje.
As for as the Asians, pakistan judge has stated the following ;
" In my report, I had mentioned about players who had really indulged in 'Match-Fixing'. But its really pathetic to see that those players are still playing "
Azharuddin has been in the news for all wrong reasons and its time for him to prove his goodwill.
It is reported that a South African reporter has called him thru phone last week and queried about his relations with a guy called CASSIM.He is also linked with Sachin. But both the Indian players have denied indulging in any illegal activities with him.
With Cronje not clear with his statements, the South African Cricket Board is yet to take on any action on him. What is shocking as the allegations is that Cronje may be allowed to play gain. This one is surely on the cards with the deceived South African skipper gaining public sympathy day by day. It's stated that he is also human and he tends to make mistakes. The latest development is the support is growing for the ex-skipper.
Anyway, the Board is acting at its best and would be naming the chairman for the inquiry committee in the weekend. The good news for the proteas is they have own the recent OdDI series against the World Champs.
With many experts commenting on 'Suspension of all International ODI's till the problem is sorted out". Many look on to the broader side of the game and ICC has the answer for all.
Will ICC act rightly now to save the status of " 'THE GENTLEMANS' GAME " ?
